It's Arts in Education week!
This is an ironic thing here. Think about this. Back in 2010, Congress enacted that the second week of September be designated as National Arts in Education week. However, September is also Healthy Aging Month. This is designed to promote healthy aging practices since 2007. So in the last 20 years, a lot has been going on for a creative September!
With arts in education, a goal is to bring about a critical time for advocacy. Education in arts needs to be a national priority. Arts is a basic form of communication, and we all use it. Whether a school, a community or a person, it's important for us to see that.
Also, as we age, health is a major concern. Mental and physical health. And being creative exercises the mind, and helps us as we age. What's the alternative? It's important to stay creative as we get older.
We need to empower both ourselves and others to live full, vibrant lives. This is important! Whether you're young or old. You're never too old to learn.
