What are you doing today to help change the world?
Be the change you want to see in the world. A lot is going on today. But we have the arts to thank as a way of escape and communication. It's important to mention artistic activism and protest art. One big reason is because you can use activist art to combat ageism. Ageism is running rampant in our world today as a form of discrimination. Not just in the workplace, but in arts as well. That's one reason senior citizens need a form of artistic escape.
That being said, let's mention this month's philosopher: Albert Camus.
Camus was heavily involved in absurdism, which is a very cool form of art. Absurdism deals with nothingness, and emphasizes how life is meaningless. In the grand scheme of things, what does it matter?
He had many great influences, including Kafka, Nietzsche, Dostoevsky and Schopenhauer.
Camus wrote many great books, including the Myth of Sysyphus.
According to Camus, he believed we should revolt and be free in our way of living. Existence and creating meaning in a meaningless world were major issues for him.
Research Camus! There's a lot of information out there about him.
